Somaliland, Kenya discuss Trade and Investments Issues

The Minister of Trade and Tourism Hon. Mohamed Hassan Saad “Saajin” along with the DG Mr. Abdirashid Ibrahim held a meeting on Tuesday with the head of Kenya Consul in Somaliland Amb. Benson Mwaliko to discuss trade toes between the two countries.

Kenya is seeking to promote trade and investment with Somaliland while Somaliland also seeks to benefit from the cordial relationship by opening more opportunities in the field of education.

Somaliland government is planning to become part of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) which aims to promote intra-African trade and they see Kenya as key partner.

The meeting is part of the implementation of the agreement the President H.E. Muse Bihi Abdi and former President of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta signed in 2020 in Nairobi.
